The WCCAC hosts and participates in a variety of events throughout the year, including fundraisers and an annual Champions for Children Conference which we provide for our Agency Partners.
Fundraisers serve two important functions for the WCCAC. The raising of funds is obvious, but perhaps the more important role they play is to make new friends for the Center. As people are drawn to participate in the fundraisers, either by sponsorship or simply attendance, we have an opportunity to educate them on the realities of child abuse and explain how they can have a role in breaking the cycle of abuse by helping us rescue these young victims and offer them hope and healing.
The WCCAC itself usually sponsors one fundraiser each year. Additionally, there are some community sponsors who raise money on our behalf through outside events. These events provide us with much needed support for the general operation of the Center and give us the strength to provide high quality resources for our children.
We are delighted to announce the publication of a soon-to-be-released book by one of our therapists here at the Center, Rebecca Hubbard, LMFT. Kindness in a Scary World is a children’s book about terrorism.
Please join us on Friday, 9/8 at 5:30 at the Center for the book launch!

The Georgetown Area Junior Forum collects stuffed animals for abused or neglected children in the area served by the Williamson County Children’s Advocacy Center. 100% of items and cash donated toward this community project go directly to help these children from all over Williamson County. They make a BIG difference for children who receive services at the Advocacy Center.

Several community sponsors come together each spring to host the Red Poppy Bike Ride, including the SERTOMA Club (SERvice TO MAnkind), the Sun City Cyclists, and the Georgetown Cyclopaths. The WCCAC is one of the grateful recipients of funds raised through this event, where the registration fees from 1200+ cyclists, many from outside the Georgetown area, go to fund the donation to the Center. Visit www.RedPoppyRide.org to learn more about this event.
In May each year, Cherokee Crossroads, Inc. hosts the Cherokee Crossroads Music Festival for the express purpose of raising money for several children’s charities, including the WCCAC. We are so thankful for this donation each year. Visit www.CherokeeCreekMusicFestival.org for more information.
