WCCAC honored as “charity of choice” for DanceWorks 2015 Charity Costume Gala
DanceWorks Halloween Society Charity Costume Gala raised more than $15,000 for the Williamson County Children’s Advocacy Center. Thank you, Ken & Michelle Arndt and the whole DW gang!
Round Rock, TX – Choosing the Williamson County Children’s Advocacy Center (WCCAC) as their charity of choice, the DanceWorks Halloween Society held their second annual Charity Costume Gala on October 17, 2015 at the La Frontera Marriott Hotel in Round Rock. The group raised more than $15,000 for the WCCAC.
The Charity Costume Gala provided an evening of fun and frolic that included cocktails, scrumptious dinner & dessert stations, entertainment, a costume contest, silent auction, and dance party fun until 11 p.m. For a small fee, you could enter the costume contest and vie for fabulous prizes, such as an Apple iPad, iPad Mini, and many more.
The event was open to the general public, and costumes were highly encouraged. Tickets were available for $60 per person at DWHalloweenSociety.org.
“We are so grateful to DanceWorks owners, Michelle and Ken Arndt, for their generous community spirit, and we were honored to be selected as their beneficiary for the second year in a row,” said Monica Benoit-Beatty, executive director for WCCAC. “DanceWorks is a wonderful dance company in Round Rock. Michelle and Ken care deeply about their local community and work tirelessly to protect children in our county.”
Benoit-Beatty added: “In addition, we are thankful to all the wonderful sponsors and silent auction donors who supported the Gala this year. Their caring efforts provide critical funding that allows WCCAC to fulfill our crucial mission of protecting children. When the well‐being of children and families becomes the priority of everyone in our community, the number of child abuse and child neglect incidents will decrease. We couldn’t have asked for a more fun or exciting partnership than this with DanceWorks Halloween Society!”
WCCAC is the ONLY non-profit to serve as the first stop for children entering the justice system because of suspected sexual abuse, severe physical abuse, or witness to a violent crime in Williamson County. This year, over 750 children will receive critical services at the Center, which provides a safe, child-friendly place for children to disclose abuse for the first time.
